Summary
100 Years & 5 Chronicles is a historical book containing many forms of creative writing by Michael Ovienmhada. The story begins with a black immigrant family in a middle-class neighborhood in Atlanta, GA where Junior welcomes his dad from work. The teen boy tells his dad that it’s Black history month, and that everyone must write a story and pick a Black hero as the main character. The boy picks Muhammad Ali as his central figure, and the history of the 20th century is told around the dinner table, written in a form of a play. This story is followed by more literary pieces than anyone can imagine.

While reading this book, I can vividly imagine attending a school play and applauding the stage performances of these awesome literary pieces. This is such a creative way to entice students, parents, and readers to take interest in history as this highlights many significant historical events, and the great men behind them. It’s like a refresher course that took me in a journey to feed my mind and soul.
Overall, I’m giving this book 5 out of 5 stars. The writing was superb! This book was very informative and educational. I’m sure that readers would appreciate history more as this book practically contains all forms of creative writing: play, poetry, ode, biography, and short stories. It's a fusion of fiction and non-fiction. I highly recommend this book to history enthusiasts and lovers of literature.
