Summary
Conquering the Impossible: Making the Dream Come True is a memoir by Carol Higgins. In this book, Carol relives the agonizing battles she fought for: her abusive father, her cancer, her divorce, and the passing of her sister, Donna. The physical and emotional turmoil she suffered in the past were enough to give her courage to conquer her fear and lifetime dream of climbing the mount of Kilimanjaro.
Review
I have high respect for this strong woman who surpassed every single battle in life that most people wouldn’t be able to live through. I know that memories can be very tormenting. It’s what makes it very hard to overcome struggles, but Carol moved on and used her personal experiences as her drive to help other people by raising funds for charity. What Carol went through was too much and more than anyone can ever take in their lifetime, but the fact that she overcame them all makes her a great example that people can survive even the most horrific experiences if they believe that things will get better.
I’m giving this book 5 out of 5 stars. Cancer patients, cancer survivors, and those have suffered a long time of abuse will be inspired to conquer the troubles of their past and keep on going. I highly recommend this book to all readers who love reading memoirs.
