From Grief to Miracles by Richard Foley is a true to life story of heartbreaking events. The author described how he overcame all the trials through his huge faith in God, and in himself. The book consists of many poems about his grief and inspiration. Mostly, they are poetic conversations with God and his beloved wife, Patricia.

Review

I read this book in one sitting. It’s a very quick read and I particularly liked “I Fought” because it says a lot about a broken person who wants to end his life, but instead, fought his own shadow like a warrior and saw the beauty in God’s gifts.

I’m giving this 4 out of 5 stars. It’s a good memoir, and an enlightening collection of poems with powerful messages. Many people who have suffered the pain of losing someone will be able to relate, and there are inspiring words that could help lift the faith of a person who’s battling with life’s never-ending trials and tribulations.
