Summary
Gone Green is a sci-fi mystery novel by Beth Barany, the third book in the Janey McCallister Mystery series. On the eve of the gala, in celebration of the hotel space station’s anniversary, something triggered the casino vault’s alarm. To everyone’s dismay, the guards have been attacked, and the supposedly impenetrable vault was robbed, leaving almost no trace of evidence to identify the culprits. Janey teams up with Orlando, a sexy undercover cop for the Sol Unified Planets, to solve the mystery.
Review
Janey and Orlando had a nice tandem! I like that the story’s level of romance was just enough to make my heart flutter, mainly focusing on the focal point of the story, which is to uncover the mystery of the mind-boggling casino robbery.
Honestly, to keep my inner peace, I didn’t even attempt to arrive at my own theory of how the hell it happened and who were the culprits. I just simply read and enjoyed it.
Overall, this book was well-written, has an intriguing storyline, good character development, and great world-building! I’m giving it 5 out of 5 stars. It’s a fast-paced hi-tech and kickass mystery novel with an intricately outlined sequence of investigation. I highly recommend this to sci-fi and mystery enthusiasts.
