Book Review: Herman the Mouse

Summary

Herman the Mouse is a children’s book written and illustrated by Tammy Brown. The story is about Herman, a smart mouse who sees a big cheese in a mouse trap. He comes up with plans to get the cheese out without being trapped, trying his best to avoid Lloyd the cat whom he thinks will eat him. Unfortunately, his plan didn’t work, so he ends up at the mercy of the cat. He pleads and to his surprise, Lloyd the cat saves him. He realizes that no matter how different someone is, anyone can be a friend.

Review

I’m giving this book 5 out of 5 stars. It’s a heartwarming adventure for children ages three and above. This book is adorably wonderful in every way. It has full page illustrations that are eye-pleasing and the story has a moral lesson. This is the perfect book for a child to develop empathy, boost critical thinking skills, and improve memory through the character names, illustration details, and the story itself. It also has an activity for kids to find the fuzzy little brown spider hidden on every page.
