Review
I found myself constantly nodding in agreement as I read this book! I’ve been in the BPO industry for 11 years and resigned as a quality associate manager. I noticed that one of the common struggles of team leaders in the different accounts I have handled is coaching. Either they lack in providing coaching to their subordinates or are not effective in doing it. I can honestly say that this is one of the best books about leadership because the tenure, expertise, urgency of the task, and nature of the task are all factored in. The keys are to identify which style is needed depending on these factors and apply them effectively. And to apply them effectively, you must know your people.
Overall, I'm giving this book 5 out of 5 stars. It was well-researched, well written, and the topics were well defined with examples and commentaries from many people who have been using the three basic leadership styles. I highly recommend this book not just to leaders in business organizations, but also to parents and teachers.
