Summary
Lovesick Lady is a memoir by Rachel Strysik. The author relives the different types of relationships she’s had, and shares the lessons she learned from those experiences. This book is in no way intended to be a self-help book, but she wanted to share her journey in hope that it may be of help to others.
Review
I think if there’s one thing that I would keep only to myself, it would be my relationships with the men that entered my life. It’s because I’ve always thought that personal relationships that ended should be kept private, as they may be perceived by some people as a failure on your part. But then this book made me realize that no one should be ashamed of what we have gone through in life because our past experiences have molded us to what we are now, and people have different coping mechanisms. Some need to talk about it in order to move on, some never want to talk about it, some want to share it to help others.
The good thing about this book, is that it can be beneficial to teens and young adults who are yet to experience the ups and downs of dating and relationships. This won’t prevent the young minds to engage in sexual activities, but at least, they'll be more careful as this book has practically served as a guide book even if the author’s intention is to simply share her experiences. Overall, I’m giving this book 4 out of 5 stars. It was an insightful and enlightening read. I recommend it to readers who love reading memoirs.
