Book Review: Padanaram Village

Summary

Richard Lewis, an architect, is out shooting pictures in the scrub pine when he suddenly sees a car barreling down in a dust. Two men come out of the car, drag things out of the trunk, and bury them. Rich checks them out once the thugs leave. To his surprise, he finds a body of a middle-aged man, as well as two suitcases. The two suitcases have lots of thousand-dollar bills in them. Because of the fact that he’s in financial distress after his divorce with Debbie, he decides to report the dead body, but takes the suitcases with him. Later on, he finds out that the money belongs to two of the country’s top mob bosses.

Review

Padanaram Village: A Mystery of Sorts is a legal thriller by Jack Burbank. I enjoyed this book! This is the third book I have read by this author (and still counting), and he never fails to entertain. He doesn’t like run-of-the-mill stories; he writes the most out-of-this-world scenarios that would make you keep guessing what in the world would happen now?

I love the client-lawyer relationship between Rich and Alan, the budding romance that Rich has with Gail, and came to appreciate Judge Santos whom I didn’t like at first. As for Debbie, Tom, and Lafleur, they can all go to hell.

I’m giving this book 5 out of 5 stars. The author is my favorite when it comes to legal and crime investigation stories. This book has entertainment value and a story that is out of the ordinary. Readers who love thriller with a touch of humor will love this book!
