Book Review: Rose's Locket

Summary

Rose’s Locket is a coming-of-age fiction by Shannon Quist. The story revolves around Izzie, an adopted child who had been deprived of her roots. On her 18th birthday, her parents finally revealed a set of documents to give her some of the answers she had been waiting for. And to get further information about her birthmother and past, she went on a journey with her boyfriend, Matt. Along the way, she decided to write a fantasy book, imagining what her ancestors might have been like.

Review

The tone of this book sends a nostalgic feeling. It’s fiction, but it feels so real and full of emotion. I guess it’s the fact that the author created a fiction story out of her own story that made this so heartfelt.

I’m giving it 5 out of 5 stars. This book is very engaging and informative! A great story with stories in it! And to quote the author’s remarks in her great introduction of this book, “If you like unicorns, mermaids, the nostalgic tone of the late 2000s, or winding summer road trips, this book is for you.”
