Summary
Spirit and Fire is a coming-of-age fantasy novel by TC Marti. The story begins when Mali, a girl who have always wanted revenge on a monarchy that rendered her family outcasts centuries ago, unexpectedly befriends Caer, the prince of Cymraeg who wants to escape his life and run away from a prearranged betrothal. What happens next is an adventurous journey and a frame up that could lead to Mali’s death sentence.
Review
It wasn't hard to get hooked because the beginning was very indicative of an adventure coming when two people of completely opposite status met. Though this book will be embraced more by young adults, older people could also be interested in reading it. It's not my first TC Marti book so I have gotten quite attached to the writing style and the author's ability to make me feel young at heart, but this book has its own touch and has its own charm. Overall, I’m giving it 5 out of 5 stars for giving me an adventurous, heart fluttering, and heartwarming reading experience where family values are given importance whether they have the same blood or not. Highly recommended!
