Review
Tess: Day of Reckoning is an action-adventure and romance novel by Andres Mann. Tess juggles work, parenting, music, and relationship issues in this intense tale of military mission, while she faces what every couple goes through – temptation.
I like the chapters with Aara and her studies. They give me time to breathe from the intensity of the main topics involved in this book: political, social, economic, and relationship issues. I also like The Valkyries. It’s a delight to read about kickass women in the military who play music.
As much as I like this book, there are also things that I don’t like about it. I hate Tess’s infidelity, and Jake’s decision in the end. Since Jake is my favorite character in the Tess series, I harbored hatred towards her infidelity, and I am not amenable with Jake’s decision, as well as Bob’s views. Also, the book has poor editing. I don’t normally mention this in my reviews for as long as the overall reading experience is not impacted, but it pains me when an author does a great job in writing a compelling story and yet, the editor doesn’t make sure the book has pristine editing.
Overall, I’m giving this book 4 out of 5 stars. It’s full of action and adventure that combines music and military pursuit in the midst of emotional turmoil. I recommend this to mature readers who love action and romance. Warning: This book has explicit sensual contents.
