Summary
The Day the Fidgets Came is a children’s book written by Kerry Orchard and illustrated by Dio Ostuni. The story is about Alex and his uncontrollable fidgeting. His bad case of fidgets is disrupting the people around him and he couldn’t seem to stop until the principal gave him a small ball, a twisty bracelet, some clay, pencil, a drawing book, a large yoga ball, and taught him a breathing exercise. He then stopped fidgeting as soon as he got busy doing things.
Review
I can still vividly remember the time when my three kids were very little. They couldn’t stay in one place if they had nothing to do or only had one option to do. There had to be many things and options for them to get busy because they tend to get easily bored. I guess most children are like that. Even I was like that when I was a kid unless I was reading a book because that was the only time I was quiet and still. Hence, I’m giving this book 5 out of 5 stars. The story is relatable and easy to follow, and the illustrations are of high quality. I recommend this book to children ages 2 – 10 years old.
