Summary
The Last Bachelor of Ales is a Christian fiction by Peter T. Elliott. It’s about Jason, a bachelor who likes routines such as meeting his friends on the same night every week at The Tinker’s Table Pub. That routine suddenly breaks, and his life is turned upside down when he gets promoted at work. He also has just started dating the beautiful girl he met at the elevator. As he experiences new and unfamiliar feelings that make him uncomfortable, he starts to question life and his purpose.
Review
This book is very relatable and one with an in-depth outlook in life. Jason’s conversation with Moses at the beginning instantly created the reflective mood that the book needed to put myself in the lead character’s position. It is indeed, a very unsettling feeling not to know where life is headed, who or what you’re supposed to be and what you’re supposed to do.
The author brought me back to my toxic life in the corporate world, something that I have experienced for 11 long years, so reading this book was like looking at my life during that miserable time. It also makes me feel grateful of the new life I am living today.
I’m giving this book 5 out of 5 stars. It’s a good source of life lessons with a heavy dose of philosophy. I recommend this to readers who want an inspiring journey about finding one’s purpose.
