Book Review: Tumble: The 35th Parallel

Summary

Tumble: The 35th Parallel is a suspense thriller and science fiction by Bob Triggs. It is book three of the Tumble series – the continuation of Tumble: The Golden Capricorn.

In the midst of a widespread anarchy, US President Sinclair abandons the White House. Cobra and his entire gang carry out a plan that involves Jerry Burnham, CEO of City Investment Banks. And while the people of America are either seizing their last days on earth or going through desperate measures to secure themselves slots in the twilight zone, a freak storm threatens Southern Argentina, and leaders in other countries have plans of their own.

Review

These are the moments in the book that I liked the most: (1) When Michael told the justice minister that he wants an immediate mandatory price freeze on food and baby products with severe penalties for noncompliance, and Stanley also asked if he’s going to include oil and petroleum products, which he instantly agreed to, (2) Charles Baskins of Ohio State Penitentiary got what he deserved for his evil crimes. I liked that he got a visit from Amy and the other girls. Same with the other prisoners who committed inhumane crimes, (3) President Sinclair appointed Mary Blackwell as a special recorder. She is to record every word the president says and every decision he makes going forward for posterity, (4) Brad finally found out what happened to Steve Jaeger. I’m not sure why there was no mention of Danny Walker though, (5) The Stanley and Captain Hill incident is a very good example of how anyone can be so desperate to make sure the entire family and relatives are secured in the twilight zone, (6) I like Cobra’s journey to the twilight zone with Thelma and the teenagers who went with them, and lastly, (7) The ending to this book was superb, though I won’t say anything to prevent spoilers.

I’ve given perfect ratings to the first and second book, and this one certainly deserves another 5 out of 5 stars. This book is an excellent portrayal of world disaster and survival instincts, and I highly recommend it to ALL mature readers who want an amazing reading experience. Warning: This book contains explicit details of violence.
