Summary
Tumble: The Golden Capricorn is a suspense thriller and science fiction novel by Bob Triggs. It is book two of the tumble series – the continuation of Tumble: The Andaman Event. As defined in the book, ‘tumble’ is an appellation to describe the shift in the obliquity of the ecliptic. In an attempt to keep the tumble’s horrible impact, which is mass extinction, President Lloyd Sinclair covers the truth by declaring a terrorist threat. However, nobody believes that this is the motivating factor behind his ludicrous behavior. The twilight zone is only large enough to support 1.7 percent of the human population, so he goes to great lengths to secure at least a third of the American citizens.
Review
“Wow.” This was the only expression I had when I finished this book. It is so insane that something so impossible can be so realistic given the scientific facts, the President’s actions, and the citizen’s reactions when they finally found out about the tumble and its impact. This book is so timely and it’s the best book to read during these trying times because we’re all going to be so thankful that the real world isn’t as worst.
I love everything about this book. Even the despicable actions of Lloyd Sinclair (US President), Jeffrey Burnham (CEO of City Investment Banks), and the Norwegians, could really happen given the desperate circumstances. Who in the world would still be level-headed when there’s a threat of extinction and only a portion of humanity can be saved?
I could very much relate to Jennifer’s situation because she’s a mom and she got stuck in Oxnard and couldn’t go home to her three kids. I would’ve risked my life to do anything to go back to my family. I don’t understand what the deal is with Peter West though and why he did what he did, but that won’t keep me from giving this book the rating it deserves.
I am giving this 5 out of 5 stars. This apocalyptic novel is phenomenal and the book series should be adapted into a television or movie series. I highly recommend this to ALL mature readers. It’s a page-turner with compelling characters, storyline, and setting, and one of the most innovative end-of-the-world stories I’ve ever discovered. Warning: This book contains explicit details of violence.
