Summary

Wind Wielder: Elementals of Nordica Book 1 is a speculative fiction novel by TC Marti. Sion Zona, a skilled wind wielder, has been practicing his elemental power along with his friends and cousins even after the law has banned mutants from using their powers. After participating in a riot protesting against repression, they become targets of the Tamurian Empire. Review

There's a lot going on in this story that it can be overwhelming. At times, I found myself asking, "What on Earth is going on now?" Though the concept is familiar, the story is complex and multi-dimensional, and the uncertainties regarding the characters’ fate prevented me from putting this book down. I love that this book gives a mix of classic and modern feels because the powers the characters possess are classic, but the setting and overall approach is modern. I think this is the kind of story that would be best appreciated in the big screen for its aesthetics and battle scenes.

Overall, I’m giving this book 5 out of 5 stars for its great world-building and fascinating characters. It’s a story about mutants with elemental powers that have been banned by the government, but have gathered to form an alliance against those who aim to destroy them. The cliffhanger ending will entice readers to anticipate the next installment in this series. I highly recommend this book to readers who love supernatural and fantasy stories.
