Book Review: Winston by Alysen Bayles

Summary

Winston is a children’s book by Alysen Bayles. It’s about a dog named Winston who is different from other dogs because instead of chasing bunnies, he makes friends with them. He also has a bad ear, but Sally still loves him and takes care of him.

Review

I’m giving this book 5 out of 5 stars. This heartwarming story is beautiful and perfect from preschool to kindergarten readers. It’s short enough to be remembered, and strong enough to capture a child’s imagination; the language and story are simple enough for young readers to understand. I also love the illustrations because they complement and enhance the tone of the story. And most importantly, this book teaches unconditional love.
